It’s been many years since I’ve used that word, “Daddy” when referring to my Dad. But in my heart he will always be “my Daddy.” Today he celebrates another year of life – his birthday. I am so thankful to that God has blessed my life with such a wonderful man as my father. Dad has always been the quiet sort, not really expressing his affection too often. But, I always knew my Dad loved me. It would make me proud when he’d tell me, “You’re my favorite daughter.” Of course I am his only daughter, but who cares about that, right? Dad is the rock in our family. He was always my pastor but also the spiritual leader of our home. From him I learned that serving Jesus is the best choice you could make. Many times I went to Dad in the middle of the night, asking him to pray for me. Thank you Dad for the spiritual heritage you passed on to me. We hope your day is special and that you know that you are loved and appreciated. Your grand kids think you’re special too and miss you. A great big hug and a Happy Birthday from all of us. Receiving the traditional birthday handshake
There’s a story behind this cake. We made it before church and left it on the table to cool. When we got home it was covered in tiny red ants. So, we picked them off as best we could and enjoyed “Texas Ant Sheet Cake.” Yum!
I know this pic is a little old but so cute. Grandpa reading to Hannah and Daniel.
